norma is 19 year old who is 39 weeks gestation. her pregnancy has been uneventful the baby has begun to crown upon arrival. norma prides herself in taking good care of herself during pregnancy. norma weighs 5'5 weighs 240 pounds gaines 40 pounds through out her pregnancy. she gives birth to a baby girl lisa weighing pounds 6 ounces. mom is stable to baby seems to have jitters.
norma has a history of diabetes takes insulin regular. what are the nursing diagnosis ?

The nursing diagnosis of client with diabetis using insulin who delivered baby :

Altered nutrition less than body requirements related to inability to meet metabolic needs.

  • Assess dietary pattern regularly
  • Monitor weight of the client at every post natal visit.
  • Assess understanding of effect of stress on diabetis
  • ,Teach the importance of regularity of meal pattern
  • Monitor serum glucose levels.

Risk for infection related circulatory blood changes as evidenced by increased blood glucose levels.

  • Understanding about risk factors
  • Identifies important interventions in reducing the infection.

Risk for unstable glucose levels related to stress , lack of glucose monitoring process.

  • Monitor glucose levels regularly
  • Identify factors that may lead to unstable glucose level.

Risk for developing diabetes in infants related to metabolic changes in mother.

Deficient knowledge related to disease process , treatment and involves individual care needs related to misinterpretation and lack of recall.
