The appropriate tone to use with this patient are an educative or informative tone by conversing in a firm ,deeper and solemnly expressing that if the patient dies this ot can be harmful to hun rather than being beneficial.

Eg., A patient who is refusing for a treatment to save his life by avoiding certain medications prescribed.The tone which can be used is informative, concerning and not threatening

Mr.X,This procedure is a simple and non invasive which can reduce the length of your hospital stay.
