It is defined as a natural process of reacting to loss

Stages of Grief

There are five stages of grief

Stage 1:

Denial: It is a response of refusing or not accepting the incident occured

• Reveal the grief when the person is not alone may with a close relative
• Get to know any past losses and coping strategy
• Establish a trust with the client

Stage 2:

Anger : After continuous denial people tend to be triggered of their anger thinking why this has happened to them

• Do not argue with the individual
• Give them time to think
• Remove any harmful instruments around
• Remove any stranger from the environment which can trigger their anger

Stage 3:

Bargaining : trying to find a way to escape the grief

• Be with them when they try to find any alternatives
• Do not refuse actions which can be possibly done
• Let the client vwntilate his feelings

Stage 4:

Depression : They are in state to be mentally disturbed that have to undergo through this situation

• A continuous support by a strong person is necessary
• Tell about the pain and uncomfortness  experienced by a ailing patient
• Help them to identify their strength and weakness for coping

Stage 5:

Acceptance : When an individual comes out of depression ,they think about the reality and accept it.

• Helping them to do the necessary funeral service if there is loss of life
• Make them understand and proceed towards the positive side
• If there is a financial loss,provide them hope and confidence
• Let them cry because this decreases the heaviness of feeling
• Provide spiritual support
• Counselling

The others which can help ypthe patient in recovering are individual or family therapy, group therapy, peer support group to com out of the grief.
