Question

2. [1pt]
Eight points have been marked on a snapshot graph as shown.

8 6 5 4 3 2 1

Assuming this is a snapshot of a travelling harmonic wave, select the correct answer for each of the questions below. E.g., if the answer to the first question is A, and the answers to the rest, B, enter ABBBB. You only have 4 tries!

A) ↑ B) ← C) → D) ↓ E) the particle is not moving

  1. In what direction is a particle at point 2 moving if the wave is travelling to the right?
  2. In what direction is a particle at point 6 moving if the wave is travelling to the left?
  3. In what direction is the wave travelling if a particle at point 3 is moving upward?
  4. In what direction is the wave travelling if a particle at point 5 is moving downward?
  5. In what direction is a particle at point 7 moving if the wave is travelling to the left?

Answer #1

Question I) it is missing .

ii) if wave is moving in right then particle 2 is moving in downward direction. So answer is D.

iii) If wave is moving in left direction then particle 6 is moving in downward direction so answer is D.

iv) if particle at point 3 moving in upward direction then wave is moving in right direction. So answer is C

v) if particle at point 5 moving downward direction then wave is moving in right direction . So answer is C

vi) if wave is moving in left direction then particle at 7 is moving in upward direction. So answer is A

So answer for all question
