1. Liquors have quite a bit lower density than a swimming pool of water because alcohol is lighter than water ,you cannot float In the 40% alcohol even with your lungs fully flated, your density is higher than the liquor ,thus you will sink if you stop swimming.
2. The fumes will cause you choke & cough, it will be extremely difficult to get a breath of good air ,risks of getting this liquor into your mouth are more when you become unconcious due to inhalation of alcohol, your chances of passing out will be more here either due to asphyxiation or alcohol poisoning.
3. Your skin may start to chill & feel like you just did the reverse of moisturizing.
