Answer #1

Pressure of CO2 gas = Barometric pressure - vapor pressure of Water at 21.50c

= 758 - 19.2

= 738.8 mm Hg

mass of CO2 = Mass of generator before reaction - mass of generator after reaction = 75.023 - 74.975

= 0.048 g

moles of CO2 = (mass of CO2 / molar mass of CO2 ) = ( 0.048/44) = 0.001091

now using ideal gas equation

PV= nRT

volume of CO2 at STP

V = nRT/P (1)

at STP ,

P = 1 atm

T= 273 K

R = 0.082 L-atm/mol.K

calculated moles of CO2 (n) = 0.001091

then ,using Eq.1

volume of CO2 at STP ( V) = (0. 001091*0.082*273/1)  = 0.0244 L

now

molar volume at STP (Vm)

= \small \frac{V}{n} = ( 0.0244/0.001091) = 22.38 L
