1) The food borne pathogen associated with still births is a bacterium named Listeria monocytogenes. It is one of the most virulent food borne pathogens causing infection called listeriosis. It is a gram positive facultative anaerobic bacterium and can grow at temperatures as low as zero degree Celsius.

2)The foods suspected  of carrying the pathogen are contaminated raw foods like vegetables, unpasteurised dairy products, refrigerated foods like meat spreads or smoked meat, raw sprouts, ready to consume foods. These are some of the examples of foods that are suspected to carry the pathogen.

3)Some of the methods for prevention of this illness are proper cooking of the meat, vegetables, maintaining good kitchen hygiene, properly washing hands before consumption of food, avoiding consumption of unpasteurised dairy products. The above mentioned methods can be followed as a prevention of this illness.
