1 ANSWER :

TWO EMERGING FOOD BORNE PATHOGENS : The two emerging food borne disease pathogens are

1. Salmonella

2. Staphylococcus aureus

SALMONELLA : Salmonella is a bacterial infection which causes food illness, in medical words it is called as Food Poisoning. The disease spread by salmonella is called as Salmonellosis

Salmonella infection usually occurs when a human being eats the food infected or contaminated with fecal matter of animals or the bacteria carrying infections to humans. The outbreaks of salmonella pathogen contaminates eggs, meat, chicken and also contaminates food products like fruits and vegetables. After entering into the human body it enters into intestine, lays eggs and sheds through fecal matter. Usually person don;t exhibit symptoms of infection. but abdominal cramps, fever, diarrhea, within 72 hours of infection.

2 ANSWER :

One of the food borne pathogen associated with still births is Listeria Monocytogenes, it is a food borne which is a major cause of infection in pregnant mothers. This pathogen is contaminates food items like vegetables which come in contact with sewage waste which are going to use as fertilizers carry pathogen to humans.

Foods which carry the suspected pathogen are as follows :

1. Refrigerates meat products

2. Cheese which is made of unpasteurized milk

3. Refrigerated sea foods

4. Milk and milk products which are not pasteurized

5. Preserved meats and hot dogs

6. Sprouts which are raw

PREVENTION OF LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES FROM CAUSING ILLNESS :

* Proper and thorough cooking of food items which are raw available from animal sources (meat, poultry)

* Proper washing of vegetables before consuming

* Consume pasteurized milk and other dairy products

* Don;t mix uncooked foods with cooked foods. Keep separate from ready to eat foods.

Therefore by mpracticing of the preventive measures food borne illness caused by the pathogen is decreased.
