Counselor and case manager are covering more activities,both are carriers..but with various occupations like case manager provide advice to patients about medical services selection option..Counselor provide advice and support in variety of issues regarding their carrier planning,marital problems, financial idea,drug addiction etc..
They both have difference in coordination of care..Counselor directly involve with patients to make suggestions to achieve the goals..but case manager directly contact the health care professionals to make patient receive quality care..
They both have similarities between involving in advice for particular condition..case manager focus their view to prevent health effects to stop the causes..But counselor focus on health effects on patients by including their family by providing solutions to eliminate the causes and future options..As s nurse some times we will be as a counselor for giving patient advice and helping them to solve problem..Registered nurse will become a case manager as per experience and qualification..
Case manager involve in assessment, planning, evaluation of individual or family health needs..They also involve in doctor appointment ,coordinating care etc..
