Part1 Meeting recovery Syndrome is a phenomenon according to which it is said that, effect of a bad meeting lingers upon attendee(s) for hours, which can be evident from their complaining and grumbling. It is result of a bad and ineffective meeting and is found to keep attendees questioning about the purposefulness of the meeting held, or keeps them brooding about the time that got spent unnecessarily in the meeting which concluded without any results.

Part2 Meetings can be bad if led ineffectively. However, no organization can do away with meetings. Meetings are supposed to bring ideas to table and can lead to better coordination and cooperation between people. Thus they are essential to be conducted.

True, This is generally a phenomenon if the leaders are not conducting effective meetings. Then followers find it to be a mundane and time eating task to attend a meeting.

Few things to be kept in mind before beginning a meeting can be:

  • Clear Cut Agenda: Agenda of the meeting should be clear cut, and if possible then brief points of discussion should be disbursed for the attendees
  • Only invite Intended attendees: by only inviting people for whom agenda is relevant one can save time of other people though belonging to same department. So if a meeting is of managerial level than executive staff need not be invited for the same.
  • Predetermined Time Frame and Place: This can led to efficiency in idea sharing and also in reaching at the desired spot. This will also lead to sure shot attendance.
