  • Bioavailability is the fraction of administered drug that reaches systemic circulation in unchanged form. By IV route, bioavailability is 100% because it bypass first pass metabolism by liver. Therefore the drugs having low oral bioavailability are given by IV or some other route
  • Generally the bioavailability of oral drug is low. This is because they have high first pass metabolism in liver.
