1. The nurse should express feeling or showing concern for or kindness to the patients.Care is an important part of nursing..Patient care is not just about the medical aspect of nursing.Patients may experience stress about their conditions, injuries, procedures, surgery, or recovery.It is important for nurses to treat a patient's physical ailments as well as his or her imotional needs.

When nurses show empathy , they foster a collaberative relationship with patients, which can help in rooting out causes, symptoms or explanations that result in a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatments. Open communcation and mutual respect between nurses and their patients can result in these positive patient outcomes :

  • Shorter hospital stays.
  • Alleviation of pain.
  • Decreased anxiety.
  • Optimistic outlook about recovery.

CULTIVATED NURSING CARE :

By instilling nurses with the values of patient - centered care, nursing schools and health care organizations help them develop a compassionate approach to care. Hospitals may use role-playing or stimulation to teach nurses the skills they need to bond with their patients.

Here are some ways nurses can show they care :

  1. Smile.
  2. Make eye contact.
  3. Greet your patient by their name.
  4. Sit in a chair next to the patient when conversing.
  5. Listen attentively without intrupting.
  6. Carry out requests.
  7. Ask patients what they need.
  8. Anser questions.

2. Effective patient education starts from the time patients are admitted to the hospital and continous until they are discharged.The nurses should advise the patient or relatives regarding :

  • what is the exact disease.
  • what are the outcomes.
  • what are the modalities of treatments.
  • how many days expecting treatments.
  • what are the complications if prescribed treatment if not taken.
  • provide informations about drugs

a. how many times per day have to take drugs.

b. whether drugs to be taken before or after food.

c. how many days have to take drugs.

d. what to do if miss a dose.

e. what are the side effects expected.

f. inform nurses if any problems develop after taking medications.

g. what are the complication can happen, if not adhere to the prescribed therapy.

h. encourages significant relatives to assure the imtake of madicine properly.

3. PATIENT EDUCATION STRATEGIES ARE :

  •   Assess patient health literac - before implimenting any patient education techniques we must assess patient current knowledge level. All educational material will be useless if the patient does not have functional literacy.
  • Utilize patient teach back - in this technique we first explain an importanat concept,procedure, or self management techniqe to the patient.Then nurses ask the patient to   repeat the lesson in his or her on word.

Goal of teach back technique is to ensure that nurses have explained medical imformation clearly, so that patients and their family understand what nurses communicate to them.
