I believe in God, I just don’t believe in everything my parents’ religion teaches.” In your opinion, what is the difference between spirituality and religion? 3. Shandra is a 54-year-old woman who has severe clinical depression. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago and went through chemotherapy. She describes the experience as “the worst time of my life.” Six months ago, she was told that the cancer had returned. She has made the decision not to go through chemotherapy a second time. She has been overheard saying, “What did I do to deserve this?” and “God must really be mad at me for something.” After talking with Shandra, the mental health nurse arrives at a nursing diagnosis of Readiness for Enhanced Spiritual Well-being. What interventions may be implemented for Shandra? When would spiritual interventions be contraindicated? 1) Spirituality means a person believing on oneness and searching for a inner peace ,being loving to self and others.
Religion means a certain or specific type of belief and practices for a supernatural power or God
He is actually not I'm a search of spirituality at the same time he doesn't oppose religion. Because he is not willing to follow the way his parents preach God.
A counsellor can take the place to talk to this patient
2)Some the values one should have in life are
These values are generally influenced by the responsibility and role in the family. It is important to know ones value to have a good quality of life and will be able to differentiate what is good and not.
3)Some of the interventions like allowing her to go to chaplain to pray and cry out if she feels so embarrassed
Spiritual leaders can help her yo cope up with situations
Spiritual intervention will be contraindicated in case of psychotic illness
Some of the ethical concerns during nursing intervention are not creating a false belief on God.the disease may be recurred due to varied factors and may be god not responsible for it rather its an ala from almighty ri care for self.
4)Spiritual assessment is important to know about the belief if patient in regards to health and illness.
Some if the component of spiritual assessment are patient having any cross,sacred thread, any idols, bible or religious books or holy books,visit to holy place.
