The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that nearly 20 million new sexually transmitted infections (STIs) occur every year. In your state, what STI has had the biggest increase? What age group do you see the greatest risk for STIs and why do you think there is an increase? What do you think you can do as a healthcare professional to help educate your patients on STI prevention? Do you think patients understand that a sexually transmitted infection is reportable to the health department?

Here are the increased incidences of syphilis about 76 % out of the other STI (sexually transmitted infections).

As per the report the young age group of 15years -25 years represents the greatest risk for STIs, covering almost  50% of all cases of new STIs.

Reason: As they are having the tendency of more than one sex partners, hesitant for the conversation and further reporting, lack of health insurance as reported, as well as they is more prone biologically also.

As a healthcare professional to help and educate my patients on STI prevention i will try to build up the comfortable environment and try to develop the sense of belief and safe in patient's view for sharing their information and I will assure the confidentiality of this information.

Yes in my opinion there should be reported but in a proper channel for the information sharing as the patient's confidentiality is concerned.
