Nursing informatics has professional value to incorporate wisdom. Technology plays an important role in nursing. The concept of wisdom correlates with the use of data, information, knowledge for making decsions and implementing nursing actions. Nursing informatics improve health quality by using information technology. nurses advanced education in IT help nurse in the clinical area, education, research, and health care. It increases patient safety and evidence-based nursing practice. Example: Electronic medical records increase patient safety and quality of care, decrease medical error and improve the diagnostic process. NI makes the patient and family participation in their own health with the help of electronic access(smartphone, e-learning) to view their medical history, symptoms management, and medication management. Critical thinking and decision support systems help nurses to assist with the physician to solve the problem, prescription, recovery, diagnostic plan and reduce medical errors. The American nursing informatics Association and healthcare Information and management systems society contributes to improving patient safety.
