On examination you notice your client has a leg ulcer which is covered with slough. The whole lower leg is swollen and red. The client is finding it hard to move around and is complaining of severe pain. Who could you refer this matter to?

When finding a patient with leg ulcer and complaining of severe pain, we should inform these complaints to the physician who is on duty. Immediate measures has to be taken to treat pain. In the meanwhile, surgeon has to be intimated for further treatment. Aseptic dressing has to be done. Surgeon may suggest for removal of ulcerated tissues. All dressing materials and needed things has to be kept ready.
