Describe the role of the liver in digestion.
Role of liver in digestion :-
Liver performs multiple functions in digestion such as:-
1. Production of bile which help in emulsification of fats (breakdown of fat in smaller pieces).
2. Play role in glucose metabolism- glycogenesis, glycolysis and gluconeogenesis.
3. Storage of vitamin A,D,E,K (fat soluble)
4. Storage of iron and copper
5. Ammonia conversation to form urea for excretion.
6. Liver synthesizes all plasma proteins except gamma globulin.
