1. Understand normal mechanism of growth and development.

2. Demonstrate knowledge to optimize function for independent living.

3. Present age specific nutritional assessment.

Attributes of growth and development

1. Growth is quantitative whereas development is both quantitative and qualitative.

2. Growth occurs for a limited period while development takes place till death.

3. Growth tells about one aspect of personality but development tells about all aspects of the personality.

Intervention:

1. Assess the normal growth and development of all age groups.

2. To find out deviation from normal and deviant behavior of different age groups.

3. To understand the reason of particular disease condition.

Goals:

1. To detect early changes in child's growth.

2. To detect any normal or abnormal changes in growth and development among all age groups

3. To identify baby nutritional or health problem.
