The purpose of home health services includes allowing individuals to remain at home, encourage cost containment through hospital discharges, focus on the care of sick patients, and provide health care services that would otherwise be offered in a health care institution such as a hospital or nursing home setting.
Home health services may include skilled nursing care, social worker, adult day care, homeless shelter, group boarding home, supportive social services, and home care aides.
