Discuss what is involved in the data infrastructure for health IT (e.g., billing and coding data sets, registries, databases, etc.).
The data infrastructure for health IT needs to be properly formed so that all the healthcare objectives can be attained easily and accurately. The use of information technology in healthcare facilitates for proper health record management and also helps us to find records of all disease conditions.
Data infrastructure should be advanced enough to cover all the areas of healthcare management and then we could be able to explore areas of development and innovate for the well being of the society by finding cures for all the diseases on a global platform. Scientists and doctors would be able to find records of any disease and the cure for that disease in the data infrastructure. Also it would be easy to cure epidemic diseases by studying different people, their food habits, lifestyle, genes technology and other information by storing the data in databases.
To store the data in databases and create a clinically integrated network (CIN) a lot of steps are required by the healthcare professionals and data scientists such as;
1) Acquiring data from different sources such as electronic health records, patient file information, socio-demographic data through government questionnaires, insurance claims and population census.
2) Keep a check on who can access the patients health file and only allow access to the right people.
3) Maintain proper health records of each and every individual so that it would be available at any give time for reference and research.
4) Once proper information is collected, ensure to encrypt and decrypt the information properly into good databases that have firewall and prevent the data to reach into wrong hands.
5) Create an artificial intelligence networks and use robotics to analyze the data in healthcare so that stellar service is possible to patients and research is possible.
