As you may have experienced or at least can imagine, the role of patient advocate is a very important responsibility. I hope that no one has to assist a loved one when addressing his/her long term care needs. However, for most of us, the inevitability of providing support is real. So, in order to understand what patient advocacy is, I would like you to describe (3 paragraphs) how you think you can make a difference when approaching the needs of your loved one. Please define two characteristics of this responsibility and how you can possibly take a proactive approach to minimize the chaos of the time in which you have to put on your advocacy hat.

Answer: In the case of healthcare system patients need someone who can solve their dilemma, confusion, in other words, we can say that they need an advocate who can advise them so that they can make a proper decision regarding their health.

Patient advocate plays major role in the patient's life. The main function of the patient advocate is to help and guide the patient through the healthcare system. The patient advocate also helps patients to communicate with their healthcare professionals so as they can get all the information regarding their healthcare to make proper decisions.

The patient advocate looks after the maintenance and manages the health of a patient by providing various educational and healthcare-related services. He also provides confidentiality to the patients. These patient advocates not only support or provide care to the patient but also they assist patients, their families etc.
