Answer #1

C6H5COOH + H2O <-------------> C6H5COO- + H3O+

part C) initially [C6H5COOH] = 0.054 M

from part A and B it is clear that

at equilibrium [H3O+] = [C6H5COO-] = 0.0018 M

amount of C6H5COoH dissociate = amount of H3O+ formed

means concentration of C6H5COOH dissocated = 0.0018 M

at equilibrium [C6H5COOH] = 0.054 - 0.0018 = 0.0522 M

answer = [C]HCOOH = 0.0522 M = 5.2 x 10-2 M
