You attend a local health fair organized by several health care research companies. You notice that a company is distributing a trial drug to other attendees at one of the booths. When you approach one of the researchers, you are offered a waiver to sign for participation in the trial. What ethical or legal parameters should the researchers have considered prior to distributing the trial drug at the health fair? There are mainly two types of translational research. They are Type 1 and Type 2 translational research.

Type 1 translational research :-

In this type of translational research, experiments are done on the cell lines and test animals within the laboratory. The results of these experiments are used on the humans. This type of research is also called as "bench to bedside" research. For example, any drug is first tested on the cell lines and animals for its safety, effectiveness, side effects, mechanism of action, etc before it is used on humans.

Type 2 translational research :-

This type of research involves the effect of experimentation in practical life. This type of research is also called as "bedside to community" research. Integration and implementation strategies into the community is represented by this type of research. Cross - sectional study of the effectiveness with the drug to whole community with demographics is also focused in this type of research. This type of research helps in the economic analysis of new therapies.
