RHEUMATOID FACTOR (RF) : Rheumatoid factor is defined as an IgM protein antibody produced in the immune system, which attacks the own tissues or cells of a persons which are recognized as a foreign bodies by the own body mistakenly. When Rheumatoid factor is seen in the body it is the indication for presence of inflammatory mediators in the body .Rheumatoid factor test identifies and detect presence of rheumatoid inflammatory factors in the blood in the cases of auto immune disorders like Rheumatoid Arthritis. Learning about rheumatoid factor is useful to learn about the auto immune disorders of immune system and their implications on health. Rheumatoid factor test is conducted by taking a small blood sample of a person from a vein of arm. If the person is having the symptoms of joints pain, swelling, stiff joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis,it can be identified by performing this test. For conducting this test there is no need of test preparation to the client, a positive report of the test indicates presence of rheumatoid arthritis to the persons and immediate treatment has to be started to prevent further complications.
