Answer - c. The total value of purchases before and after the price change is the same

The above statement is NOT true when the price falls.

According to the law of demand, when the price of a good or service falls, quantity demanded rises provided other things remain constant. When the price falls, the total value of purchases also changes. However, the total value of purchases will increase of decrease depends upon the elasticity of demand. But when the price falls, quantity demanded also changes and thereby the total value of purchases of total revenue also changes. It cannot be remain same before and after the change in price.

The other options given is correct when the price falls. They are

a. Correct. When the price falls, those consumers who are previously cannot afford or not willing to purchase now can purchase.

b. Correct. When price calls, the consumer surplus always increase.

d. Correct. Those consumers who are already using the good, now they can purchase more due to fall in the price.
