I know the Tesla will cost the most up front, at $50,000. Next will be the hybrid, at $20,000. The conventional gasoline car costs least, at $10,000. (Scores: 2.5. and 10, respectively). The gasoline car is proven technology and hybrids are close behind, and then the Tesla. (Score it 10. 8. and 6. respectively). The Tesla is believed to have the least environmental impact, and scores the highest on the sustainability criterium. Next is the hybrid, followed by the conventional gasoline vehicle. If it is the cost which determines the buying decision we can easily choose low cost vehicle. But reliability will be a factor which comes in to play when we categorize the vehicles on the basis of cost. Hybrid vehicles are normally 40-60 percent reliable than gasoline cars. Even though Tesla is the most reliable among electric cars, generalized dip in reliability can be attributed to Tesla as well. So a good choice based on reliability will be Hybrid.

Since we are on an age of Sustainable development, governments are planning to completely switch from conventional gasoline type vehicles to mitigate the environmental damages. So based on sustainability Tesla will come at the top with 90-95% sustainable. Hybrid cars are designed in such a way so as to avoid environmental problems caused by conventional cars to a larger degree. But as mentioned on the problem, it comes in between both conventional gasoline and Tesla. But when compared to Conventional cars, hybrid cars are 60% sustainable.

Since you are there for a used car, you can avoid the ambiguity on cost. If it is done, Hybrid cars would be a better option based on cost, reliability and sustainability.

If we can decide upon the maximum period up to which we use this car, a decision can be taken easily by avoiding cost and only based on other two factors only.

Hence hybrid cars are highly recommended on this situation.
