Some of the challenges which can be faced by nurses while teaching injured or ill patient are

  • Lack of knowledge regarding the care and follow up treatment for the illness (Health educate about the disease condition)
  • Communication problem is a common one (can be overcome by use of audiovisual or visual aids during education)
  • Lack of education or skill to understand what is taught (can be overcome by doing a demonstration of the topic and making them to repeat or act if possible)
  • Other medical conditions which can lower their cognition (educate the family members or the patient party regarding the topic and encourage them to inculcate in the care of the sick)
  • The care experience of the patient diring their illness if not satisfied can be a greater challenge (In order to prevent this ensure a therapeutic communication with the patient and helping them to come out with their needs and providing intervention)
  • Over demanding patient (explain them what care is specifically needed for them as per the order will be dine surely)
