Potential sources for ethical issues and challenges:
1. Obtaining a Informed Consent : always obtain patient consent before proceeding with any medical procedure. It is nurse’s responsibility to assure that integrity of this right of patient is maintained.
2. Keeping patient informed: this is ethical dilemma that nurses face. Nurses should share exact status of patient’s condition with them and their family. Nurses must give correct information regarding proposed treatments, and medications used.
3. Patient confidentiality: nurses have ethical obligation to protect the patient right of confidentiality and privacy. All information about the patient’s medical history should not be disclosed to other professionals who are not involved.
