Answer #1

When a situation is efficient it means that this situation can not be improved.' In the case, if there are some empty seats in the lecture room, this is not an efficiency situation based on two aspects. First of all, those students will be worse off from the perspective of the students who are absent from the lecture that day. Because they need to spend more time and energy catching up on the knowledge they missed for that day-class. I also suppose learning by myself is less successful than entering the college.

As a result, these students are likely to earn a mid-term or final low grade relative to the students who enter the class. In this situation, there is a potential benefit for those missing students, which obtains a higher grade by attending the class. Second, allocative inefficiency exists from the school viewpoint, if there are still any empty seats when the semester begins.
