The answer is C. Can someone give me a detailed explanation of why the first statement is false?
Answer is C and statement first is wrong because
Nominal GDP = Real GDP + Inflation.
Inflation could be negative in any given year it must not always positive. If prices goes down then earlier then it could be negative. And if inflation is negative then value of Real GDP will be higher then Value of Nominal GDP. In that case -
Nominal GDP = Real GDP + ( - inflation)
OR
Nominal GDP = Real GDP - Inflation.

define the following statement, is it true, false or uncertain?
please answer in detailed explanation.
A.4 In Canada as well as elsewhere the slope of the Phillips curve the relationship between inflation and cyclical unemployment) has flattened, implying that changes in cyclical unemployment are exerting less of an influence on inflation. This flattening of the curve is difficult to rationalize based on the various models you have studied in class.
