In almost all organizations, there are certain unwritten, people intiated mechanisms that influence the behaviour of people in business units. These mechanisms are INFORMAL Management Control Systems.
Yes these are very important. They are equally if not more, important as the Formal control systems are.
In the absence of such systems, the running of an organization wouldn't be smooth.
Example of such systems would be the good behavior expected from managers and their subordinates. Imagine the managers being very rude and arrogant or the subordinates answering back and being rude. It would be such a difficult situation for the HR to control.
