Answer #1

Justice is one of the four key medical ethical principles.

Social justice” refers to a distribution of goods or services within a societal context. It focuses on the persons or groups that influence the distribution of services or merchandise. This includes health care treatment accessibility and availability.

According to justice, all people should be valued equally. Health has a particular value for individuals. Every person should be able to achieve his or her health status without regard to characteristics that have historically been linked to marginalization and/or discrimination. Health is of special importance to society. Accepted international standards of human rights obligate governments to promote and respect the human right to highest obtainable health. As sub-optimal health can be an obstacle to overcoming social compromise and disadvantages, health differences unfavourably socially deprived groups are exceptionally objectionable. Resources crucial to health should be allocated fairly. Health equity is the expectation that underlies an obligation to reduce and finally eradicate health disparities.

Social justice means believing that everyone ought to be able to avoid preventable disease and escape premature death. Far too often, gross inequities mean that some groups succumb to disease and death disproportionately, while others’ advantages protect them, due to disparities in health care provision, political persecution, social strife, racial discrimination, and a plethora of other factors.

Social justice provides the basis for action from all health care providers as catalysts to social change. Clearly, there are barriers many health care providers face in this role. Logically, for nurses and physicians, there can be a sense that legislative policies and political influences pose insurmountable obstacles for social change.

As physicians, they are often at the front lines, facing societies’ ills with our patients as our windows into spaces and worlds we may not be living in.

The principles of justice. :

This principle aims to provide justice through universal basic fairness, equality and access for all citizens. Physicians are required to consider the principles while treating the patient.

Justice is a mandatory principle that a doctor has to follow while treating the patient.

2.If a does not care about the social justice that results in inequalities and health disparities lead to lack of availability and accessibility of care to the general population. This results in suboptimal care to the minority people and they again suffer from more and more chronic and debilitating diseases.
