Janice has been given the responsibility of creating and managing the data dictionary for the laboratory IS that is being implemented. There are a number of existing ISs that have their own data dictionaries. The data from the laboratory IS will be part of a clinical data repository. She decided that she needs to start from scratch to make the data dictionary the best it can be. She is reviewing the data dictionaries from the other ISs used at the healthcare facility, but she does not always use the same terminology and format that are used in the other ISs.

1.Yes there is an issue in this case.There is a mix up of patients data.Data quality plays an major role in patients treatment because if there are errors in the data it may cause complications in treatment.Different IS dictionary causes confusion.Lab results should be precise which will help in making correct diagnosis and will help in get quality treatment from physicians.

2.Yes.I agree with Janice's decision to start from scratch because invorrect lab results will result in misdiagnose and which in turn causes incorrect treatment which may cost patients life along with physician job.I free with Janice because she is revewinre the terminology for the IS which will result in giving proper treatment for the patient and quality will be increased in healthcare.Patient lab reports play a major role in patient care so Janice made an important decision which helped patients.
