Available dose = 40/kg/day
Child weight = 32 kg
Maximum safe dose = Available dose X weight
40 X 32 =1280/q8h
24hours divided into 8
1280 /3 =426.67mg
This is the optimal dose without any unfavorable side effects..
when the ordered dose goes beyond the maximum safe dose only it will be considered as not safe..
