* patient receiving 1.25 GM of vancomycin every 8 th hourly in dextrose 5 water.

* means per 24 hours 3 times it will come.

* 1 ml of d5 solution provides 0.17 k. Cal of energy.

* so for 3 doses means if fluid is 500 ml means total 1500 ml.

* so 1500 × 0.17 = 255 k.cal of energy received by patient in 24 hours.

* three tea spoon means : 15 ml.

* 1 mg per 1 ml means : 15 mg per 15 ml.

* 15 mg diluted in 120 ml means = 120/15 = 8 ml

* so 1 mg = 8 ml.

* w/ v is 0.0125 gm per 100 ml .

In 0.45% sodium chloride is half normal saline. In these each ml of 0.45 % normal saline contains 4.5 mg of sodium chloride.

So 500 ml of 0.45% normal saline having 2250 mg of sodium chloride.

4.5 × 500 = 2250 .

To make a 1% of hydrogen peroxide solution in 240 ml,

Approximately 2.46 ml of 3% h2o2 should be add 240 ml of water to prepare 1 % of hydrogen peroxide.

Because 3% of hydrogen peroxide is having 3 %. And 97 % of water.

So 3 ml in 97 ml of water for 100 ml. Then for 240 ml approximately 7. 4ml to be add.

To prepare 1 % we need to add 2.46 ml for 240 ml of water.
