1. Complementary therapies are therapies used in addition to conventional treatment recommended by a person's health care provider. do not substitute but rather complement the conventional treatment.
Complementary therapies include exercises, massage, reflexology, prayer, biofeedback, creative therapies (art, music, or dance therapy), guided imagery, acupuncture, relaxation strategies, chiropractic therapy, therapeutic touch, and herbalism.
Alternative therapies often include the same interventions as complementary therapies, but frequently become the primary treatment modality that replaces allopathic medicine.
One of the complementary therapies that I am interested in most is the creative therapy which includes art ,music and dance therapy . It is a therapy which helps to heal the patient from their creative skills . It is a method in which the patient heals by their own creativity .
2. I have my own experience of using complementary therapy . When I was depressed due to not passing the entrance exam for MBBS ,my mother told me it's not the end of your life ,if it's for you it will come to you and to get involved in activities which you like the most . I used my creative skills ,dancing is my hobby and I used to engage in dance which made me happy and helped me to heal out of depression and further I started study another course and lead my life ahead.

Advantages :-
- They teach us to become more responsible for our health .
- They may not be as costly as modern therapies and medications
- They can work as a sole , primary or supportive treatment
Disadvantages :-
- They require time to work
- They require lifestyle changes
- They might interact with medication
