Cranial nerve 7 called facial nerve - mainly Motor nerve

Motor supply of facial muscle

- upper motor nuron lesion - testing

In upper motor nuron lesion - elevation of eyebrows - wrinkles on forehead appear , in lower moter nuron lesion no wrinkle on forehead

Facial muscle testing by - if patient possible to make normal smile, pouting of cheeks

And nasolabial fold no deviation - normal facial nerve

In lower moter nuron lesion- complete paralysis of ipsilateral muscle of face and forehead

2- in stroke upper motor Neuron lesion of facial a nerve - so contralateral facial muscle palsy - weakness and spasticity of muscle

No forehead muscle involved

- in bells palsy - 7th nerve damage in canal

Lower motor neuron lesion - so ipsilateral complete facial muscle paralysis, deviation of angle of mouth
