Answer: The coronavirus is one of the communicable disease which mainly affect the respiratory system. This disease can cause severe complications such as pneumonia, bronchitis or respiratory failure. Hence if not treat may lead to death of a patient. The coronavirus mainly target small children or the older people. It also shows complications people with low immunity. Some of the impacts it could have on US healthcare are:

  • There could be people who are being affected with this disease may not avail better treatment as due to lack of healthcare coverage. This will increase the risk of complications.
  • The untreated patients may lead to suffer from various complications and may die
  • Mortality rate will increase due to poor healthcare facilities.
  • The healthcare system of the US is not sufficient to handle the large outbreak of the disease.
  • The increase in the population size demands more healthcare professionals. This will causes shortage of healthcare professionals.

The government should take some of the steps such as:

  • Create awareness among people by social media such as preventive measures, treatment etc.
  • Government should increase the size of the healthcare coverage for larger group of people.
  • The government should appoint more healthcare professionals and keep check on the hospital who lack to fulfill all the Criteria.
  • Build more and more hospitals.
  • Encourage international students recruitments of the healthcare professionals who are more experienced.

The federal government along with the state government should initiate this process. It will reduce the health disparities as well as create less panic among the citizens.
