		Tonsilitis	adenoiditis
	Clinical manifestation	pain while swallowing , swelling on tonsils, redness, congestion and runny nose, fever or malaise, sore throat	inflammation of adenoids can cause sore throat, swollen gland in neck, snoring, difficulty in breathing.
	Assessment	check for the swollen lymph nodes on the sides of neck, check for fever and signs of infection in ear or nose	check for throat in case of swelling and inflammation, check for fever and breathing difficulty.
	Diagnostic	throat swab is taken for detection of streptococcus, CBC complete blood count	throat swabs, blood tests, X ray of head and neck to check the size and extent of the spread of infection
	Medical management	antibiotics medication is recommended and in severe case tonsillectomy meaning removal of tonsils can be done	antibiotics are the line of treatment, nasal sprays can reduce swelling. Steroids are administered for enlarged adenoids.
	Nutrition therapy	provide plenty of warm water. Advise to eat soft foods ice creams.	drinking plenty of warm water to combat against infection and relieve the swollen area.
	Nursing management	gargling with warm water is advised. Suck lozenges. Rest is must	gargling with lukewarm water . Rest is advised suck lozenges.
