Answer: Acute rhinosinusitis

• Clinical manifestation: It is an inflammation of the nasal cavity and sinus. The sign and symptoms includes such as nasal congestion, facial pressure, headache etc.
• Assessment: it is bacterial infection and pain assessment should be performed. The continuous pain in head should be assess and hence pain management should be performed.
• Diagnosis:
  • Physical examination
  • Purulent
  • MRI should be performed to know about the disease.
• Medical management: Antibiotic therapy is given to treat the infection. One of the most common antibiotics used is the Amoxicillin. Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole is given as the alternative treatments.
• Nutrition therapy: Saline nasal spray is usually clear the nasal cavity. Reduce the intake of cold beverages as it may trigger the pain. Sufficient amount of green vegetables should be taken.
• Nursing intervention:
  • Nurse should intervene about the pain and it's Intensity.
  • Nurse should provide 7 days antimicrobial therapy.
  • Nurse should provide teaching to the patient with do's and don'ts.
  • Nurse should educate patient about the temperature maintenance.
