Answer #1

A 4 years client having 20 kg weight with 39-degree celsius fever.

Ordered Tylenol= 200 mg every 4 hours prn mean as required

means in 24 hours the 6-time dosing

Recommended dose= 10-15 mg/kg/dose

As per weight of the child this dose range will be= 10 X 20 mg to 15 X 20 mg /dose

= 200mg to 300mg /dose

Hence as per the recommendations, it is safe dosing.

Further Available medication = 325 mg /10.15 ml elixer

= 32.02 mg/ ml

Hence for the ordered dose i.e. 200 mg every 4 hours prn required ml= 200/32.02= 6.25 ml

Means in 24 hours the 6-time dosing

Hence for 24 hours fluid requirement= 6.25 X 6= 37.5 ml
