Answer #1

The patient is to receive a bolus tube feeding of 300 mL of 1/3 strength Pulmocare.

The can of Pulmocare contains 237 mL.

a. The nurse will add 474 ml of water to Pulmo care to make total contains of 711 ml. (Which contains 237 ml pulmocare 1 part and 474 ml water 2 part)

237ml x 3= 711ml

b. A nurse will give 300 ml of bolus per dose so, in total 2 doses, the nurse will give 600 ml and she should discard reaming 111 ml and prepare a new solution for the next 2 doses.
