Treatment is given according to the asthma action plan. The patient’s levels of asthma control zone has to be detected and treated accordingly. There are well controlled GREEN ZONE, poorly controlled YELLOW ZONE, very poorly controlled RED ZONE. The medication are according to the severity.
Two main types of medication used to treat asthma are long term control medications like inhaling corticosteroids which will make asthma under control. These are used in daily basis.
Quick relief inhaler fall in second catagory. It contains fast acting medication such as albuterol. They can quickly open the airway and make breathing easier.

Identify the asthma triggers. They may include allergens, pollutions, cold air smoke etc. keep away from those.
If the individual have allergic to specific allergens then avoid or stay away from it. Limit exposure to tobacco, fires, cigarettes etc.
Avoid close contact with those who have flu or cold because this will make asthma symptoms worse. Make your home allergy proof. Dust mites can triggers asthma.
Take your vaccinations on time and consider immunotherapy allergy shots which may help to prevent allergy symptoms.
