Answer: The patient's knowledge of their health risks affect their health as the increased concern among patient reduces the risk of disease development. For example if patient knows about the health risk such as increase intake of oily and fast food may increase health issues, then the health risk can be prevented. The another example we can consider about a diabetic patient. If the patient has knowledge that consumption of sugary drinks, increased smoking and alcohol consumption will lead to adverse health effects. Hence the complications can be prevented. So, knowledge will elevate the health of the patients and enables them to take proper care of themselves.
