Due to kidney failure their is a short supply of active vitamin D occurs that causes calcium and phosphorus to get out of balance.

And in this case production of parathyroid hormone increased by the parathyroid gland to maintain the calcium level into the blood and parathyroid hormone pulls calcium from bones to increase it in the blood to maintain calcium into the blood.

That's why due to this reason excessive loss of calcium occurs in kidney failure.
