Answer #1

1. Weight of Macro -9.4 lbs = 9.4 × 0.45kg = 4.23kg

Age of Macro - 9years

a) Total fluid requirement for cat is 50-60ml/kg

= 211.5 to 253.8ml

b) rate /hr = 211.5÷24 to 253.8 ÷24

= 8.8ml/ hr to 10.5ml /hr

c) Size administration set for Macro :-

For cats and small breeds, use a size 22 or 20 gauge by one inch long catheter. For medium breeds use a size 20 or 18 gauge by one to one and a half inch long catheter.

d) For the cat, the dose range is 10–20 mL/kg/24 hr (typically, 10 mL/kg in 2.5–3mL/kg boluses)
