Answer #1

Please note that only 4 subparts of the question is answered.

Weight of the dog in kg = 81.4 lb x 0.45 = 36.63 kg (since 1 lb = 0.45 kg))

36.63 kg body weight approximately corresponds to 1.11 m2 body surface area of dog ( according to above conversion chart)

28)

The dose of L-Asparginase = 15,000 IU x 1.11 m2 = 16,650 IU sc ( since 15,000 IU is needed per m2)

since 10,000 IU drug is present in 10 mL solution ( 1 vial )

therefore, 16,650 IU will be present in 16,650 / (10,000 / 10) = 16.65 mL of solution IV

29)

Number of vials of L-Asparginase needed = 16.65mL / 10mL = 1.665 vials or 1 vial and 6.65 mL (since 1 vial contains 10 mL )

30)

Dose of Vincristine = 0.6 mg x 1.11 m2 = 0.666 mg IV ( since 0.6 mg drug is needed per m2 )

Since 1 mg drug is present in 1 mL solution

therefore,

0.666 mg drug will be present in 1 x 0.666 = 0.666 mL of solution IV = required dose

31)

Dose of Doxorubicin = 30 mg x 1.11 m2 = 33.3 mg IV ( since 30 mg drug is needed per m2 )

Since 2 mg drug is present in 1 mL solution

therefore,

33.3 mg drug will be present in 33.3 / 2 = 16.65 mL of solution IV = required dose
