Art in broader sense is a form of communication. It is an activity which is done by people with an objective of expressing an emotion, idea, or a view which mainly is in relation to culture, religion, economic or social factors etc.
In past the most common form of art was painting. With the help of painting an artist used to express its idea. However it is not necessary that everyone understands what painting is actually reflecting. Different person can think differently and can make out different meaning from same painting. As painting does not have vocal expression so as the time moved ahead audience and artist both started moving to more expressive form of art which is Performing art. Performing art constitute of dance, music, theater / film or television.
As performing art expresses its view in vocal manner so it helps in making everyone understand the similar meaning. In today’s word performing art is the most important form for entertainment through which individuals reduces their stress or pressure of lives.
Popular culture is something that is widely accepted, something which is commonly liked, or something which is frequently experienced.
The two best example of popular culture is Sports and Television. Reason for selecting these two examples for popular culture is my own experience of it.
Sports unites masses of all class irrespective of religion, language, country etc. Sports is major part of many people live’s whether it involves playing or watching of sports. Recent example of Kobe Bryant’s death shows the impact he had created through sports (basketball) in people life’s all over the world.
