Euthanasia is the ending of a person’s life who is suffering from an incurable and painful disease. This choice is made by the patients doctor. Physician-assisted suicide, is when a doctor aids a patient in ending their own life. I am for physician assisted suicide, my argument for this is every person is entitled to make their own decision on what happens to their body. I do believe that there needs to be parameters for this, if a person is suffering from an incurable disease where they are suffering every day, they should have the choice to relieve the suffering. “pain covers one aspect of suffering, but relieving pain does not necessarily relieve suffering” (Pence, 2017).

Answer: Euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide is different but in both the case physicians involvement is necessary. Euthanasia is the ending of a person’s life who is suffering from an incurable and painful disease whereas Physician-assisted suicide, is when a doctor aids a patient in ending their own life.

But what is the criteria or the standard condition that patient is making right decision to end his life as may be sometimes disease is incurable but it does not mean that one should end his life. Suppose in case of HIV Aids, this disease is incurable only symptoms can be reduced by medications, so should patient end his life at the early stage of the disease? Is this ethically correct?
