3) End stage heart failure

Explaination:

Patient who can be considered for heart transplant:

  • Patients must be younger than 69 years of age.
  • Patients must have a diagnosis of end-stage heart disease, such as advanced cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, or significant heart failure.

4) HIV

Explaination:

- WHO recommends that all donations be screened for evidence of infection prior to transplant.

- Screening of all donations should be mandatory for HIV, hepatitis B and C and syphilis.
